Reporters are beginning to piece together an explanation for Sarah Palin's abrupt resignation announcement that stands in stark contrast to the reasoning Palin offered in her speech.
My oh my. If this is true who will the right claim that Democrats are afraid of? Or did Democrats scare Sarah Palin out of politics? Or could it be that she doesn't think that she can take the scrutiny?
Politics as usual in Alaska seems to be a very corrupt affair. If she never ran for VP perhaps she could have just gotten away with a little graft for a little while. Now it seems more like she is going to be defending herself against criminal charges.
Resigning before the charges are actually filed may actually be a plea for mercy.
The big scandal seems to be about a sports center that was built with tax payer dollars back when she was mayor of Wasilla, or whatever. It apparently left the town which had never had any debt before, deeply in debt, and costs a fortune to maintain. As usual with these sports centers, it was an example of crony capitalism.
how does the saying go "more will be revealed"?
My biggest regret in all of this is that we'll no longer get to see Bill Kristol slobbering over her like a 10-year old kid who has discovered girls. Even now Bill is trying to put a positive spin on it (" . . . almost everyone I talk to thinks it's crazy, but I wonder maybe it's crazy like a fox"). Paleeasee!
and Mary Matalin's comment was even funnier: she thinks it's a brilliant political move. The Republican party is just getting loonier and loonier.
But I'm hoping that it turns out that Sarah Palin's lover is Levi Johnston....that would keep me going for weeks!
